Trainee to Financial Services Area Manager
Mike joined the company in November 2003 as a trainee mortgage advisor, working initially in the Edgeley Branch as a Sales Negotiator for 6 months. He then moved into our Explora Mortgage Solutions department to begin is training as a Mortgage Advisor, staying for a further 6 months whilst undergoing intense training and completing his, even more intense, exams. After becoming a fully fledged Mortgage Advisor, covering several of the Stockport Branches, he was promoted to Area Manager in 2006 and now has 9 branches under his remit
Banker to Estate Agent
At the tender age of just 23 it is fair to say that Carly has tried her hand at a good number of careers before discovering that it is not just the career you want but the people you work with that help you realise your destiny!
After leaving school, Carly trained to be a joiner, worked for HSBC as an office junior, worked for an estate agent for 3 years and then became a travel rep for Thomson's working in Spain.

Your day starts with a meeting at 8.30 to review the previous day's business opportunities and plan today's activities.
Throughout the morning you are on the phones, chasing up the previous evening's viewings, getting feedback, offers and making deals happen. Then you are on to your applicants with the day's new properties, arranging viewings and appointments.
Throughout the afternoon you are looking to tie up the sales you have agreed that day and arranging more viewings for your applicants for that evening.
By 4 o’clock you are on the road with your applicants, looking to sell more houses.
You will be spending large amounts of the day on teh phone, talking to your vendors and applicants, making viewings, the more viewings you make the more sales you will agree, but you must remain in contact with all of your buyers all the time. For that reason, in addition to your direct phone line in the office you'll be provided with a mobile phone.
There is nothing more rewarding than a busy day of arranging viewings with your buyers and agreeing a fistful of sales. Not only have you done your job and met your buyers expectations, those sales will result in rewards galore.

As someone who has already quailfied as a DEA you will be expected to undertake a high volume of work with a set turnaround time inorder to meet the needs of our significant client base.
For individuals with the right drive and determination, there is the option of further study to become a qualified Chartered Surveyor.

Our team of experienced qualified surveyors provide a mentoring support service to all graduates, whilst the best of the professions trainers will guide you through the study programme and towards exam success.
You will gain a series of qualifications as your training progresses, culminating in the award of Tech RICS before having the opportunity to gain full Chartered Surveyor status.

From the start you will be developed through our bespoke Graduate Training Programme which has been running successfully for nearly 5 years. You will be taught key sales skills and develop your knowledge of the mortgage industry from the outset, gaining an invaluable insight into the property sector.
You will receive training on a continual basis, ensuring you learn the sales skills and techniques necessary to become a successful Mortgage Broker. Additionally you will study for and sit your CeMap qualifications. Once you have passed your CeMap exams and proven your sales ability you will transfer to a full Mortgage Broker position.
